Steve (AKA Slush) – Rhythm Guitar

Steve has been dabbling with playing guitar since he was 18, just a few years back.
His first guitar was a Hofner classical with nylon strings. He couldn’t get on with this so decided that the Bass Guitar was the way to go, being totally hooked on playing music by now, he decided to build his own Bass guitar and cabinet. Unfortunately he wasn’t strong enough to lift it so had let it go.
Back to six strings he then formed a band which did some of it’s own material as well as a few well known covers. After a long break due to marriage and all that comes with it (although kept on playing in the bedroom cupboard) picked up the baton again a few years ago and joined a local Derby band which enjoyed a good run and helped him develop his trade. Now having been part of TTB for some 14 yrs, he still is as enthusiastic as ever, and looks forward to getting out there every timeand putting on a great show.
His main influences are Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Queen, ACDC, Guns & Roses but likes anything if he likes it. He also has a acoustic side, mainly for his own pleasure, playing some good old classics.
The only remaining founder member of Tick Tick Boom and expert at string bouncing, Steve has some 29 guitars, Gibson SG, Fender Stratocaster, Ibanez, Jay Turser, Peerless, plus an assortment of acoustics and semi acoustics. His favourite being the Gibson SG at the moment. Steve is also known as Slush because of his striking similarity to Slash, Slash is a world famous guitarist known for always wearing a top hat on stage, Slush is not a world famous guitarist also known for wearing a top hat on stage, see.. you can hardly tell them apart.
Steve is also dabbling as a luthier, having got all the tools and enjoys saving neglected and damaged guitars.
TTB has moved from strength to strength and is now a popular choice for pubs and venues including large and small festivals, long may it continue.
