The Lamb – Review

Last Saturday night saw us all popping down to The Lamb in Newhall,  a unassuming little pub on Main Street set off the main road.  We all arrived pretty much together and shoehorned ourselves into the somewhat small car park.  The Lamb is quite a small venue, but has been successfully putting on live music for some time now.  The playing area is set in one end of the L shaped bar, in front of exit door, which gets blocked off when the band is set up.  There were a few people in when we arrived and they were all friendly and happy to have a bit of banter with us as we set up.  This is a great place to play and they love their live music.

We were soon set up and ready to rock, and as the bar filled up we got under way, by this time the bar was pretty full and there were a few that had come down to see us from previous gigs and all added to the atmosphere which was totally rocking.  By the end of the night the place was absolutely bonkers, with the Landlady and bar staff head banging in,  and on the bar and people on tables and dudes going nuts on the dance floor.  All totally crazy but just the way we like it.

Thanks to all who came down, John’s daughter Claire  and her hubby, the guys from unwanted, the couple I had a nice chat with, the                  sub-mariner badge guy and the whistle blower on the bar.  You all rock and a real big shout out from all in the band.

After we played out all our encores and it was now 12.30 we finally finished in a flurry, even though something went wrong with my amp, meaning having to finish off the 2nd set on the clean channel, we were exhausted and went outside to cool down and chill out, chatting outside to the lovely Carly and Becky, who sampled my hat and had it away with a few of Glen’s varied merchandise!!  Cheers girls.

A great friendly little live music venue that I would recommend for a great night.
