The Nags Head – Review
After the Xmas festivities we were all off to the Nags head in Ripley and the following Sunday, as you all know we had had a smattering of snow around and about and it was proving very stubborn due to the freezing cold. Well Ripley was no exception, being up in the hills a bit, I think they had had just a little more than the rest of us.
Getting there very carefully we decided to park up in the centre car park opposite, which was on a slight slope and proved to be a bit of a challenge, with wheels spinning on the icy surface we basically had to settle on wherever we could get. Carrying our gear across the road like one of those wobbly plastic toys of the Flintstones that rock themselves down the hill.
Anyway, we got most of the gear in and set up, but were missing our lead guitarist Mark, who was apparently having problems with his car starting. He did eventually arrive and apparently had had the RAC out, meaning he had to unload everything and re-load it again for the battery to be checked, not that, the full diagnostics revealed nothing wrong to. Eventually the spare key was tried which cured the problem – erk.
After a bit off a squish we were now set up, and the Nags was filling up nicely with punters and one or two familiar faces. Our good friend Barry Roberts and missus turned up, as it is his local and took a few shots, thanks for that Barry.
Anyway we cracked on and everyone was clearly still in Christmas spirits judging from the gusty singing along that was occurring, the crowd in the Nags Head always give it there all and clearly love there Rock Music.
Anyway we certainly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to retuning to the great music venue.
