The Greyhound Beeston – Review
Out again on Friday night, we’ve all been looking forward to this one for some time, remembering the last time we played the Greyhound was such a great gig and we were certain we would be dished up more of the same.
The Greyhound has recently invested in new stage equipment, with new lights, microphones and smoke machines, complementing the powerful PA system controlled from the desk. Only requiring back-line and pedals, setting up was a doddle, we set up the backdrop and had everything ready to go thanks to the efforts of the sound guy and Robert Balmer, plugging in all our bits and bobs and making sure that the sound was well balanced during sound check.
As per normal for the Greyhound we cracked of at 10pm to what was a pretty decent crowd, including a few old familiar faces, our friend Colin popped in and did a few more videos, thanks again Colin. It was nice to see Tina & Barry from Rock & Bike too.
TTB was on form, blasting out our songs and filling the room with rock, the smoke added to the atmosphere, sometimes maybe a little too much as visibility on stage became seriously limited to about 6 inches at one point, but it felt good.
I ventured out into the crowd and the sound was great out front, and I could see that everyone was having a good time.
There were many familiar faces and well wishers, looking for merchandise and freebies, hope you got you TTB plectrums.
John was on form sporting his reflective shades and striking a good beat, well he must have been really good as one girl reported to him that his kick drum had given her an orgasm, what? Careful John, you might get overwhelmed at the next gig, does your missus know about this hidden talent?
The crowd were soon a-jumping and we fed off the atmosphere and delivered even more rock, blasting through every last ounce of our repertoire until we were all exhausted, but in a good way.
We love playing this fantastic venue and will be back later in the year, looking forward to it.
