Mercia Marina Festival – Review

You Tube Video

Well, what can you say – Rock & Roll, Roll & Rock.

The festival was well attended throughout the day with lots of store holders and activities for all to enjoy,  and a number of acts performing on stage and entertaining the crowds.

We all turned up around 5.30 ish donning our new TTB T-Shirts and Steve had adopted a new purple beard and shades to complete the scene.   We were a bit concerned as the bands were running slightly late but after a number of engagements with management and the PA guy from RADAR we were assured that we would go on on time, so we settled down to a couple of pints of fizz in preparation.

We had some promotion stuff to distribute and recruited Mick’s kids to do the job, the punters had no chance with Becky and Ellie’s joint charm offensive – they did a great job!

Before we knew it we were humping gear onto stage and sound checking away,  a bit worried about the weather with threatening grey clouds hanging over us and waiting for the mike problems to be sorted.

We launched into our set and the crowd soon started to build,  more and more came and were dancing and a singing with gay abandon, by the end of the evening the screams for more from the 300 plus crowd were deafening but sorry guys, we had to stop for the fireworks, honest.

It’s getting to the point when we now need to consider hiring security,  as we were stage rushed by a group of enthusiastic groupies who wouldn’t say no – unfortunately they were ushered of the stage – although Mick was pulling his hair out he did jump down and join them,  can he have his shirt back please.

We all had a great time and were deluged by punters singing our praises which is still continuing.  I think I can safely say that this was one of our best gigs so far and thanks go out to the management of Mercia Marina for booking us.  Thanks guys & girls.

The following morning we saw increased activities on our facebook site and some positive comments too:
