The George and Dragon – Review

Our first outing for 2015 and we were all looking forward to it.   We remenber last year when we did a gig on the 3rd of Jan here and were almost totally snowed in, but this time all was ok, no snow but a great helping of gale force winds just to keep the tradition alive.

We arrived a bit later than usual as arranged to accommodate the diners, which worked well as we did not have to hang around for ages before being able to set up.

Anyway, this time we set ourselves up a bit differently, using the knowledge gained from our good friends in DCdDC and laid ourselves across the corner more which worked really well.  All set up and ready to go all that remained was to get the old top hat from the car and we were off, or were we.    Yes you’ve guessed it, the top hat had gone, lost somewhere on the journey and probably approaching the east coast by now judging by the strength of the wind.

How could I perform without the Hat – cripes,   this on top of packing in the weed on NYE, grrrr totally stressed out.  Luckily Glen had plenty of helpful witticisms relating to Samson and haircuts, you can always rely on Glen he he.

There were a fair few punters in the George which steadily grew as the night wore on culminating in a pretty good crowd by the end of the night.

Anyway turns out I can actually play without  me hat and we had a cracking set, introducing a few new numbers to keep it fresh.    Overall a great night and thanks to all who came down and joined in the fun.
