The Golden Pheasant – Shelton Lock
It was an early start for us at our first visit to The Golden Pheasant, and again we did not know what to expect, especially as it was Valentines day and we are not known as the most romantic band!
Getting there at 6.30 to ensure we got our PAT testing done by Steve’s mate Gerry – Thanks for coming down Gerry we all appreciate your help – even though you did fail some of our kit – its always best to know and put things right.
Mark had his 60watt Marshall head back from the repairers and all seemed to be well. Thanks to all who came down to see us, a lot of familiar faces yet again and a few new ones too.
Mick made sure that Kirsty had her Valentines treat with a slap up burger and chips with free pint – ever the romantic.
We kicked of with our new start and launched into our set, the sound was good and all seemed to be enjoying it, we had also decided to stick in Highway Star to finish the set even though we had only rehearsed it once and never played it live – wow we could have not hoped for better, we nailed it and well done Mark for nailing the solo too.
Second set got ’em singing along and tapping away, although we had to cut it a bit short as we had a 11.15 pm curfew, we still managed to slip in an extra – after all you can’t let the crowd down when the’re screaming for more and more and more.
We were made to feel very welcome at the Golden Pheasant and hope to come back soon – next time hopefully on the regular band Saturday night.
We’re off now to the Wetmore in Burton to do it all again – rock on.
