The Greyhound Inn – Review
Bless me Boomers for I have sinned, it’s been 12 days since my last confession. In my defence I have to say that I needed some time for material to materialise, so now I’ve got all the ingredients together I reckon it’s time to start baking the cake.
Saturday was going to be a big-un, for TTB, we were due to play The Lamb Inn beer festival at Newhall at 5pm closely followed by a full evening at The Greyhound in Boundary. or so we thought. We received a message at around 9.30 letting us know that the Lamb Festival was cancelled due to the weather forecast being dodgy, so after a bit of checking around, we had to re-calibrate and focus on the Greyhound gig.
So off to Boundary we go, I had my brother and sister-in-law with me, Chris and Linda, who had been hankering to see TTB play for some time now and had come all the way up from Witney in Oxfordshire to witness the spectacle. So we set off a bit earlier with the idea of having some of the Greyhounds famous grub before we started to do the muso thingy. So we ordered and I had the Steak – of course – like to be predictable where my food comes into it. From ordering to it coming I started to feel a bit unwell, don’t ask me why but I was feeling pretty feeble. Glen, Mark, John and Mick had by now turned up and began setting up the backdrop as we patiently waited for our grub, then it arrived, smelt amazing and I was soon tucking into my steak, only to get stomach cramps and feel sick as a pig, so it was with great reluctance and inner pain I offered what was one of the best steaks I’d tasted in a long time to Glen to finish off. Which he happily did.
After some fresh air and the odd tablet I was feeling a lot better and got on with setting up the gear. It helped a lot having my own roadie (Chris) doing all the humping and assembling and to-ing and fro-ing from the car.
We had such a great time, Me and Glen were larking about and having a fun time, after all IT’S ALL FOR FUN. Just love it when everything goes well and the sound is great.
There were plenty of people steadily coming in and before long the place was pretty much full, thanks to you all for coming down, all those familiar faces and the new ones and the guy from Melton on his 3rd visit. The beer was great and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff, this venue is getting better every time we come and is becoming a brilliant live music venue. We had a great time running through the set and had everyone joining in and singing along, and dancing in the aisles. What a fantastic crowd, and an amazing reception, you lot rock and we absolutely love playing to you all.
