The Greyhound Inn – Review

The last time we played the Greyhound in Boundary, we had just returned from our Rock and Bike headline session,  and to be frank the crowd was a bit sparse although very supportive, so we were not too sure what kind of support we would be getting, especially as the Ant Hill Mob had performed here the night before to a very good turnout.

When we arrived, the place was packed out, being the Saturday before xmas most seemed to be there for there xmas dinners and the like, the car park was full to bursting and we had to be a bit creative with our car parking.

Once the pool table had been set aside we started to set up, after a short delay to allow for the last few meals to be delivered through the kitchen door behind the stage area.   We soon had things set up and sound check complete and were ready to go.   Some of the people were leaving but they were being replaced by more arriving coming down specifically to watch the show.

By the time we kicked off there was a great crowd in place who all seemed to be looking for a good time.   We cracked off and it was going down well, the sound was good and although most of us were still recovering from the effects of chest colds we were up for it and delivering some total rock.

Half way through Enter Sandman, Marks pedal board went down, so while Mick and Mark worked on solving the problem, Me, Glen and John gave a totally un-rehearsed spur of the moment rendition of House of the Rising sun,  which seemed to go down really well with everyone singing along, finishing off with a bit of soloing from Mark, now he had got his pedal board sorted.

We continued to the end of our set with the crowd joining in right to the end and getting very festive, especially the girls   in fancy dress doing some strange floor dancing right in front of us.

Overall it was a great gig with a great crowd, so thanks to you all for coming down to support us and to the familiar faces who came down too.
