The Stumble – Review

Again we all knew that the Stumble would be a good night, this friendly and welcoming pub is a pleasure to play at, albeit a bit of a squeeze to get all our gear in.   Starting with the erection of the newly acquired backdrop, just a big black sheet really to block out the pub fittings and dartboards etc.  who would have thought it’d nearly get the better of John and Glenn – to me, to you, up a bit, down a bit, try again, fold it sideways, wrap it  round – sod it that’ll do.

Mark was feeling a bit frail as he had walked up Mt Snowdon earlier in the day and driven back for the gig, but delivered his usual shred like performance,  bet he’s a bit stiff in the morning !

Steve came along with his new Marshall Valve amp which seemed to need more wiring than the engine room of the QE 2 –  but he soon had it all firmly pasted to the deck with copious amounts of duck tape – nothing to rival Marks creations though – and hey presto, it worked, Yeeeaaah!

There was a good crowd, many of them band followers & drinkers of course – despite strict instructions from Steve, his friend Tony still managed to get Steve’s wife slaughtered by the end of the night.

Anyway the Band cracked on and everybody seemed to have a great time with lots of flowing alcohol across the bar, we finished with a crescendo of power songs – sorry Glenn about the volume during Highway, but you seemed to like it after a bit – they must have been pleased as they booked us for another 2 gigs for next year.  Thank you Stumble,  see you again in November.
